Dr. Larry Ben, Associate Superintendent for Administrative Services  

Dr. Larry Ben joined Fayetteville Public Schools on July 1, 2017 as the Associate Superintendent for Administrative Services. Departments within the Division of Administrative Services include student services, policy development, strategic planning, human resources, and legal services. 

Dr. Ben previously served as Superintendent of Schools for the Greenland School District, a position he held since July 2014. Previously, he served as superintendent in the Decatur School District, as principal and assistant principal in the Rogers School District, and as the Federal programs director and athletic director in Gravette.

Dr. Ben earned a bachelor’s of science in education and a master’s of education in school administration from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK.  He earned both his specialist and doctorate of education in educational leadership degrees from the University of Arkansas.

During his tenure at Greenland Dr. Ben redesigned the middle school to institute grade level teams of teachers and students and oversaw completion of construction of a new athletic complex. While at Decatur he helped raise the student ACT performance, and the high school was awarded a Bronze Medal as one of the “Nation’s Best High Schools” by U.S. News and World Report. Dr. Ben also has over 16 years of experience as a classroom teacher and coach.
