16 FHS Seniors Named National Merit Finalists

National MeritAll sixteen of FHS National Merit Semifinalists have achieved Finalist status. They are now eligible to compete with the 15,000 other Finalists in the nation for the National Merit Scholarship Awards.

The seniors are (front row, l to r): Stephanie Beitle, Lucas Bellaiche, Winson Chee, Steven Du, Ruby Erickson, David Freeman, Abby Hollis, Kyle Jiang, Ryan Kim, Rachel McCann Jack Meullenet, Meagan Olsen, Sam Schach, Cole Spencer, Carl Stevens, and Albert Xu.


This extraordinarily impressive group of FHS seniors includes four students with a perfect score of 36 on the ACT exam," said FPS Superintendent Dr. Matthew Wendt.  "I am excited to learn of how many of these exceptional students enrolled in fine arts courses, studied world languages, served as volunteers and participated in co-curricular activities."

"THANK YOU to our teachers, staff members and administrators from across the school district who influenced these students along their way. This is an FPS celebration and we honor all of you who helped them into the academic superstars they are today."
