Dr. Julie Williams

At their May 25 meeting the Fayetteville Board of Education voted unanimously to approve the hiring of Dr. Julie Williams as the new Deputy Superintendent beginning with the 2023-2024 school year. 

“We had an outstanding pool of applicants for this position, and I am very pleased to have Dr. Williams join our leadership team, “said incoming superintendent Dr. John Mulford. “I look forward to working with her as we begin the next chapter in the rich history of Fayetteville Public Schools.”

“I am thrilled to join Fayetteville Public Schools and continue my dedication to public education in Arkansas,” said Dr. Williams. ‘I truly believe it is a duty to give back to society and to engross ourselves into the community in which we serve. I look forward to collaborating with the Board of Education and other stakeholders to fulfill the vision for continued excellence in Fayetteville Public Schools.”

Dr. Williams is currently serving as the superintendent of the Alton School District in Alton, Missouri. She has also served as an assistant superintendent for the West Plains and Rolla School Districts in Missouri. She began her education career as a classroom teacher teaching elementary grades. She later taught on the secondary level teaching music, mathematics, and physics. 

Dr. Williams earned her bachelor’s degree in Education from Arkansas State University, her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Arkansas State University, and her doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Missouri.
