NEW FPS Positions - Justin Keen, Sarah Jewell, & Jason Edwards

The Fayetteville Board of Education voted to approve new roles for three district administrators at their February 29 meeting. The administrators with new roles are Justin Keen, who will be the Outdoor Education and Sustainability Specialist; Sarah Jewell, who will be the Director of Pre-K Education; and Jason Edwards, who will be the principal of the newly expanded K-8 SOAR Academy, which is an alternative learning environment (ALE). The administrators will assume their new roles on July 1.

“I am pleased to see Justin, Sarah, and Jason assume new roles in our district,” said superintendent Dr. John Mulford. “These positions provide important services to our students and teachers, and I am confident they will be very successful.”

Keen currently serves as a 7th grade science teacher at Ramay Jr. High. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and his master’s degree in Education from the University of Arkansas. Keen has been a staff member of Fayetteville Public Schools since 2012.

Jewell currently serves as the assistant principal at Happy Hollow Elementary, a position she has held since 2021. She received her bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Arkansas, her master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Central Arkansas, and her Educational Specialist degree from Arkansas State University. Jewell has been a staff member of Fayetteville Public Schools since 2011. She will be replacing Kathleen Hale, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

Edwards currently serves as the principal of Root Elementary, a position he has held since 2017. He earned his bachelor’s of science in education and his master’s of science of Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. Edwards has been a staff member of Fayetteville Public Schools since 2005.
