New Administrators

The Fayetteville Board of Education voted to approve new roles for two district administrators at their March 28 meeting. The administrators with new roles are Jay Mirus, who will be the new principal of Root Elementary School, and Sarah Williamson, who will be the new Director of English Language Arts and Social Studies for grades 7-12. The administrators will assume their new roles on July 1.

“I am pleased to see Jay and Sarah take on new responsibilities in our district,” said superintendent Dr. John Mulford. “We had very strong candidate pools for these two positions, and I am confident they will be very successful in their new roles.”

Mirus currently serves as the principal of Happy Hollow Elementary School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural, food, and life sciences and a master’s degree in agricultural education, communication, and technology from the University of Arkansas. He also has a master’s in teaching from Harding University. Mirus has been a staff member of Fayetteville Public Schools since 2006

Williamson currently serves as an assistant principal at Ramay Jr. High. She received her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Arkansas, her master’s degree in Teaching from the University of Arkansas, and her administrator license from Arkansas State University.  Williamson has been a staff member of Fayetteville Public Schools since 2008.
