At their April 24 meeting, the Fayetteville Board of Education approved the hiring of Tracy Halligan as the new Director of K-6 Mathematics and Natashia Michael as the new Director of 7-12 Mathematics, beginning with the 2025-2026 school year.
“I am pleased to welcome Ms. Halligan and Ms. Michael to our team, “said superintendent Dr. John Mulford. “We look forward to working with them to ensure that high quality math instruction continues to be a strong focus across our district.”
Ms. Halligan is currently the principal of Birmingham Elementary in Wylie, TX. She has previously served as an assistant principal, curriculum specialist, and a classroom teacher on the elementary and middle school level. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of North Texas and her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University.
Ms. Michael is currently a secondary mathematics coach and facilitator in the Aubrey, TX school district. She has previously served as a mathematics teacher at the middle level and secondary level. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and her master’s degree in Teaching from Texas Woman's University. She earned her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas.
