The Fayetteville Board of Education is seeking applicants interested to serve as the Zone 4 school board member following the resignation of Katrina Osborne.
Ms. Osborne announced her resignation from the Board of Education effective on August 28, 2025. She was first elected to the Fayetteville Board of Education in February of 2020.
“Serving on the Fayetteville Board of Education has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life,” said Ms. Osborne. “Together, we’ve accomplished remarkable things, making our district one of the finest in the state. While my family’s relocation to the Boston area makes this departure necessary, I’m incredibly proud of our collaborative work and have deep admiration for the dedicated administrators, staff, teachers, and fellow board members I’ve had the privilege to serve alongside. I look forward to watching this exceptional district continue to reach new heights.”
“The school board is very grateful for Katrina’s service on the board and to the students and families of Fayetteville Public Schools,” said Fayetteville Board of Education president Tim Hudson. “She joined the board at the onset of the pandemic and has been a committed and thoughtful representative, not just for Zone 4 but for the entire district. I especially appreciate her strong advocacy for students who need additional support to reach their full potential.”
The school board will appoint a replacement for Ms. Osborne’s position prior to the October meeting of the school board. Pursuant to Arkansas law, the term for this appointment shall last until the next school election, which will be in March of 2026.
