At their October 15 special meeting, the Fayetteville Board of Education voted to appoint Justin Jones to the Zone 4 position that was vacated by Katrina Osborne on August 28. Mr. Jones will serve until the school election in March of 2026 when he will have to run again for the position. Mr. Jones will assume his duties at the October 23 board meeting.
“We had a strong pool of applicants,” said Tim Hudson, president of the Fayetteville Board of Education. “We’re grateful to each of the candidates for putting their name forward for consideration. Their interest in the work of the school board and their willingness to serve is very heartening to us as school board members.”
“I am very honored to be able to serve on the school board,” said Mr. Jones. “I’m excited for this opportunity and will work hard to continue the tradition of excellence in Fayetteville Public Schools.”
Mr. Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Arkansas. He is the owner of Tutoring Solutions, where he also serves as a math tutor. He has also served as a math teacher in the Springdale Public Schools. He is a member of the Root Elementary School PTO, where he also serves as a Watch Dog Dad and as the DJ for PTO events.
