At their June 25 meeting, the Fayetteville Board of Education voted unanimously that the name of the new middle school that will be located on the current Woodland Jr. High site beginning in the 2027-28 school year will be Thomason Middle School in honor of Thelma Thomason, who taught for FPS for 61 years, the longest tenure to date in the history of the district. Mrs. Thomason is pictured here with Dr. John L Colbert at the recognition of her retirement in May of 2023. Congratulations, Thelma!!
