The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) of the Arkansas Department of Education has released the School Report Card Grades for the 2025-26 school year. Fayetteville Public Schools (FPS) performed well, with the district receiving an “A” grade for the second consecutive year. FPS is one of only 26 school districts in Arkansas to receive an “A” grade for the 2025-26 school year and one of only 13 who received an “A” grade for two consecutive years. 

On the school level, nine FPS schools received an “A” grade, five schools received a “B” grade, and two schools received a “C” grade. Additionally, FPS had nine schools receive the Arkansas Department of Education’s GEM School designation. Arkansas Gem Schools are those that demonstrate outstanding results for students and recognize schools that are leading the way in academic achievement, academic growth, and sustained improvement. The names of those schools will be released by DESE on September 18.

Superintendent Dr. John Mulford said that overall he was pleased with the grades. “While we all know that our schools are much more than a singular letter grade, the DESE report card grades reflect the hard work and dedication of our staff in the classroom. I want to commend all of our FPS employees on a job well done. Their commitment to student success is reflected in these most recent report cards, but even more by how they show up every day for our students.”

A special congratulations to both Fayetteville High School and Leverett Elementary for improving their letter grade from a “B” to an “A” for the 2025-26 school year.
