Superintendent Dr. John Mulford and members of his Cabinet joined the McNair Middle School staff this morning for Mondays Matter. Each Monday the McNair staff greets their students with music and dancing to help give an enthusiastic start to the week.

Fayetteville High School held their annual Bulldog Blitz this week!
Students had the opportunity to pick up their schedules, take their yearbook pictures, and get their student IDs. 🎉
Ninth graders attended freshman orientation led by the FHS Dawg Crew. Freshman toured the building and participated in activities to help them acclimate to Fayetteville High School.🎉

FPS SOAR staff participated in summer professional learning with national trainer and educational consultant Denise Pratt. Denise helped equip the SOAR staff with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively support students. It was a great week of learning, and the staff are looking forward to the year ahead. Thank you, Denise, for your passion and expertise in developing healthy and effective schools and communities!

The Fayetteville Adult Career Training at the Stephen M. Percival Center and Northwest Technical Institute held joint graduation ceremonies on May 16 for those who earned their Arkansas High School Diploma! What an exciting evening and CONGRATULATIONS to the new graduates!
Our seniors made the walk back to their elementary, middle, and junior high schools today! We caught a large group of graduating seniors at McNair Middle School. A nostalgic event for everyone! One graduate said they had been anticipating this day since they witnessed seniors returning when they were in elementary school! CONGRATULATIONS FPS GRADUATES!🎉💜⭐️










Washington Elementary third graders have been studying economics and creating business plans for a food truck. Today students had the opportunity to host a Food Truck Festival! Students toured a food truck furnished by a Washington parent and were able to ask questions and experience the real deal!








Sixth graders attending Ramay Junior High School next year had a GREAT time touring the school and interacting with junior high students today. Future Red Wolves experienced firsthand what junior high has to offer, including performances by the band, orchestra, choir, and spirit squads.










The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission visited Happy Hollow Elementary today and brought along a tank full of fish! Students were excited to learn about the diversity of fish in the lakes and rivers in Arkansas and enjoyed the view. They were all hooked on learning!🐟










Art students from Fayetteville Public Schools participated in the Northwest Regional Art Show and Competition recently. First Place winners included Carly Mason and Payne McGehee from Vandergriff Elementary and Maggie Kate Woodruff from McNair Middle School. Their artwork will be shown this summer at the Hillary Rodham Clinton Library in Little Rock.
Katherine McNair placed second and Rebekah Burgin placed third, both from McNair, and Ewan Sammer placed third from Vandergriff.

Leverett Elementary School kindergarten students have been learning about Excavators in Science while working on a writing project. Students were delighted to get to see and experience a real excavator today from Hugg and Hall Equipment Company. Students had the opportunity to explore the excavator and share their writing projects.










Fayetteville High School AP Environmental Science students have been working on a three-year longitudinal project at McNair Middle School to remove invasive species from behind the playground and replace them with native plants.
As part of the project, FHS students traveled to McNair and presented their work to the science classes. FHS students gave a brief presentation to each class, and then took the classes outside to show them the invasive plants. There are real educational benefits when students teach students!










The Fayetteville Adult & Career Training (FACT) program held a multicultural fair today at the Fayetteville Public Library. Forty-five countries were represented at the event by our FACT English as a Second Language students. They shared aspects of their cultures, including food delicacies, beautiful table presentations, and creative talent demonstrations. This is the first time the event has been held since 2019.
